Get Social Networking!

I’m pretty obsessed with social networking….blogs, twitter, facebook, linkendin, etc.  Sadly, in the busy and hectic lives we live today, quality face-to-face time is difficult to regularly keep up (though nothing really beats it), so it’s nice to have some sort of connection to friends & the outside world.  If you haven’t tried social networking, you definitely should - It’s the way of the present and definitely the future. For example, in the United States, social networking accounts for 1 of every 6 minutes spent online and Facebook alone reaches 157.2 million visitors and 73% of the internet population each month. 

I love social networking because I can connect with people I have never met and discover new things from them.  This is worth a lot to me as not only do I like to stay connected with people on a regular basis, but it’s also a fantastic resource where I can research  fashion trends,  mommy related topics, find out about news and events and let people know how/what I’m doing.  For example, there are many fashion forward people in Aurora and Newmarket, and I love to discuss fashion related topics with them and hear their take on upcoming trends. At times, these interactions influence the direction I choose for my buys in the store.  This custom approach to fashion offerings wouldn’t be possible without social networking.   In the same manner I use social networking to research fashion, you too can easily use it for any interests you have.

Here are some of the blogs I follow - www.meandmeg.com- mommy blog, www.mytailoredlife.wordpress.com- fashion.  Facebook pages - WWD - Women's Wear Daily, Pink Martini, Daytime York Region, etc. Twitter – Yorkregionnews, Yummymummyclub, LilSugarMag, etc. And of course you can find Snap Newspaper/Aurora on both facebook & twitter.
