7 For All Mankind Jeans Fit Guide
Finding jeans would be a lot easier if names like Kimmie, Dojo, Josefina and Lotta told you what the jeans actually looked like.
Start with the leg shape you like, then compare the rise, inseam and leg opening. Those measurements help explain why two pairs of 7 For All Mankind jeans can look similar on a hanger but fit very differently once they're on.
Why We Keep Coming Back to 7 For All Mankind
There was a time when Lemonberry had an entire wall of premium denim. We carried a lot of it, from a lot of different brands.
Over the years, we noticed our customers kept coming back to their 7 For All Mankind jeans. They're comfortable, the quality holds up, and once someone finds a 7 fit they love, they tend to look for it again.
If you've never tried them, that's still our advice: try a pair. The difference usually makes a lot more sense once they're on.
Find Your Shape
Forget the fit names for a minute. Which leg shape do you actually like wearing?

Skinny Fits
These stay close through the leg. Small changes in rise, opening and length can make one skinny fit feel quite different from another.
Super Skinny
Rise 9" · Inseam 30" · Ankle 27" · Opening 9"
Skinny
Rise 9½" · Inseam 30" · Ankle 27" · Opening 12"
Rozie
Rise 9¼" · Inseam 27" · Opening 12"
Straight-Leg Fits
Straight jeans are a good place to start if you want to move away from skinny denim without going dramatically wider.
Kimmie Straight
Rise 9" · Inseam 33" · Opening 14"
A slimmer straight shape and one of our easiest everyday fits.
Calie Straight
Rise 9½" · Inseam 31" · Ankle 28" · Opening 16"
A little more ease through the leg than Kimmie.
Cropped Alexa
Rise 11" · Inseam 26½" · Opening 19"
A wider, trouser-like straight leg in a shorter length.
Stovepipe Straight
Rise 11" · Inseam 32" · Ankle 27" · Opening 19"
Noticeably fuller below the knee than Kimmie.
Low Tess
Rise 9" · Inseam 34" · Opening 19"
High Rise Straight
Rise 11" · Inseam 31" · Opening 13½"
Boyfriend Fit
Josefina
Rise 10" · Inseam 27½" · Rolled/ankle 25½" · Opening 13"
Josefina is a slim boyfriend fit. It gives you some ease without turning into a wide or oversized jean.
Bootcut Fits
Bootcut stays fitted through the upper leg and opens gently below the knee. It gives you balance without the full sweep of a flare.
Bootcut
Rise 9½" · Inseam 34" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 18½"
Original Bootcut
Rise 8" · Inseam 34½" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 18½"
Leggy Bootcut
Rise 10" · Inseam 33" · Opening 20"
A little more sweep than a classic bootcut.
Cropped Boot
Rise 10" · Inseam 27" · Opening 18"
Lisha
Rise 11" · Inseam 34" · Opening 21"
Flare Fits
Flare opens more noticeably below the knee. This is where the bottom of the jean becomes part of the silhouette.
Dojo
Rise 9" · Inseam 34" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 22"
The classic Dojo: long, relaxed and trouser-like through the flare.
Modern Dojo
Rise 11" · Inseam 34" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 23½"
Higher at the waist and slightly fuller at the hem than classic Dojo.
The Flare
Rise 9⅛" · Inseam 34" · Opening 26½"
The widest true flare in this group.
Wide-Leg Fits
Wide-leg styles create room higher up the leg instead of waiting until below the knee to open.
Tess Trouser
Rise 11" · Inseam 34" · Opening 19"
The least sweeping of these wide-leg fits.
Kiki
Rise 10" · Inseam 32" · Opening 22"
Ultra High Rise Jo
Rise 12" · Inseam 32" · Crop 27" · Opening 24"
Lotta
Rise 11" · Inseam 34" · Ankle 29" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 24"
A true palazzo shape with plenty of movement.
Low Lotta
Rise 9" · Inseam 34" · Tailorless 32" · Opening 24"
Wide Palazzo
Rise 9⅛" · Inseam 34" · Opening 30"
The biggest leg opening in this wide-leg group.
How to Read the Measurements
Rise
The front rise runs from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband. It helps compare jeans, but your torso and the fabric affect where the waistband actually feels like it sits.
Inseam
The inseam is the inside-leg length. Cropped and ankle jeans are meant to finish shorter. Bootcut, flare and wide-leg jeans are often longer because the hem is part of the shape.
Leg opening
This is one of the quickest ways to understand the silhouette. Compare Dojo's 22-inch opening with The Flare at 26½ inches or Wide Palazzo at 30 inches and you can immediately see why the shapes feel so different.
Fabric still matters
A soft stretch denim can feel completely different from a more structured fabric even when the fit name is identical. Use this guide to choose the shape, then check the individual product page for that wash's fabric and fit notes.
What B(air) denim feels like
Some 7 For All Mankind washes use B(air), an especially light, soft stretch denim. It feels noticeably lighter than traditional denim and has good recovery, so it can stay soft and comfortable without losing its shape quickly. Fabric changes by wash, so check the current product page before assuming a named fit will feel the same in every version.

These are useful reference points from our own assortment. Stock changes, but if you already know you like one of these, it gives us a very good starting point for finding another pair.
Still Not Sure?
Jeans are one of those things that can make perfect sense on paper and feel completely different once they're on. If you're near Aurora, come in and we'll compare them with you. If you're shopping online and already own a pair of 7s you love, tell us the fit name and size. That's usually the best clue you can give us.
Fit measurements can vary by wash, fabric and individual product. Check the product page for the exact pair you are considering.
