Reclaimed Fashion: A Look Back at Preloved at Lemonberry

Some Lemonberry photos are worth keeping because they show more than an outfit. These ones, originally photographed in 2016, are part of our history with Preloved, a Canadian clothing brand known for incorporating reclaimed vintage, dead-stock and surplus materials into its designs.

The pieces in these photos are older Lemonberry styles and are no longer available, but they are a good example of what made Preloved interesting to us then — and why we continue to carry the brand today.

What is reclaimed fashion?

Preloved built its name by working reclaimed vintage fabrics, dead-stock and surplus materials into new clothing. Different fabrics and details were part of what made the pieces distinctive, and the brand was designed and manufactured in Canada.

In this 2016 Lemonberry shoot, a Preloved cardigan was styled with a Gentle Fawn top and layered jewellery. Those exact pieces have long since left the shop, but the photos still show how reclaimed clothing can be mixed with newer pieces in a wardrobe.
