Self Care Ideas For The Ambitious Womxn

If you are anything like me… you’re probably wondering where the heck have these past 2 months gone. It feels like we just started 2022, but we are already stepping into March! I think we can all agree that the older you get, the faster time flies… especially when you are caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle. 

If I’ve learnt anything about avoiding burnout as an ambitious womxn, it’s that taking time for ourselves to reset & recharge is a non-negotiable. Which is exactly why I have put together a list of game changing self care ideas for you to add into your routine this year so that you can do exactly that. Here we go: 

 

1. Morning Affirmations 

If you haven’t already jumped on the affirmations train, you are doing it wrong! Not only are affirmations an amazing way to raise your vibration, but they are also an AMAZING way to leave yourself feeling more empowered and confident throughout the day!

2. Meditate 

I remember the first time I ever sat down to meditate… saying it was a struggle is an understatement. My dog was whining in the background, and I could barely even keep my eyes closed. But the beautiful thing about meditating is that you can do it whatever way works best for you. And the more you do it, the better you will get at it! 

What I found works best for me: 

- Putting on some meditation music from youtube (preferably something that boosts your aura & cleanses your chakras)

- Meditating after I work out - this helps you get into a deeper meditation faster

- Creating a calm & relaxing space for meditating (Social Babes Tips: Get on a yoga mat, put on your essential oils, and block out as much noise as possible)

3. Doing Something You Love 

Whether it’s painting, dancing or reading a book… find the thing that makes you feel more connected to yourself! Personally, I love a good read! Especially if it’s a book that I can get lost in!

 4. Taking The Time To Get Ready Every Single Day

I’m sure this sounds like a no-brainer for all you fashion lovers reading this. But for somebody who works from home like me, this has always been a little bit of a challenge! Especially because it’s way too easy to want to stay in those comfy PJ’s all day, right? 

Taking the time every single morning to get ready (even if it’s jumping into some comfy loungewear) and to do my makeup has been a game changer!

5. Pilates 

If you struggle with “working out” like me, I would recommend trying pilates!

Pilates isn’t only for the bougie, wine loving, womxn out there! It’s really for anyone who wants to enhance their balance, improve their mood, increase their flexibility and strengthen their core! 

My favourite way to get my daily pilates in is with Move With Nicole! She is one of the best pilates instructors I have found on YouTube and I know you will love her just as much as I do! 

 

6. At Home Spa Nights 

Who says you have to go to a big fancy spa to show your skin a little TLC? 

Having an at-home spa night is one of the best things you can add into your weekly self care routine! Here are a few of my must-have spa night essentials from Lemonberry:

This year, I challenge you to find out which self care activities feel best to you and leave you feeling like the best version of yourself! The most important thing is making sure that you take the time for yourself every single day… even if it's only 30 minutes!
